Cameron McGrath is a 33 year old camera, sound and broadcast specialist. In both Australia and New Zealand he has earned a reputation as an experienced and popular operator with many of Oceania's leading producers and production companies.

Experienced in all aspects of sound recording for film and television and the operation of digital and analogue cameras, Cam has been called on to work in some 25 countries around the world. With his keen love of adventure and the outdoor life he is firmly established as a reliable person to have out in the field. Whether it's a stereo rainforest atmos, panpipes of the Andes or the dialogue between a group of people on a subway platform, Cam prides himself on the variety of work and challenges this industry brings.

Working in a harsh and isolated environment, often with no outside assistance at hand, is something Cam is quite at home with. Amongst other things, having trekked across the Papua New Guinea highlands, the Southern Alps of New Zealand and canoed through Zimbabwe and Namibia, he knows the importance of resourcefulness and quick thinking actions when it comes to both capturing a moment on tape and just generally surviving in your surrounds.

Sound technical understanding of basic electronics, communications systems and computers are a skill often called upon and his extensive knowledge of both analogue and digital camera equipment and their emergency repair procedures ensure that the role of camera assistant is simultaneously accomplished by Cam if need be.

As an established sound recordist, Jimmy Jib 30' camera crane owner/operator and extreme pursuit specialist, Cam has earned a reputation as a hard working, level headed professional. With his sense of humor and the ability to adapt to any given situation he is an asset to any team.

Cam has worked on an increadibly diverse range of productions. CBS’s Survivor, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, 2004 Athens Olympics, An Aussie Goes Bolly, or even the Extreme Bullriding Championships for ESPN, Cam’s been there up a tree rigging a camera or capturing whispered conversations in a jungle!
